Visas will only be issued when all the following requirements have been fully satisfied. A minimum of Three (3) working days is required for the processing of visas. Applicants are, therefore, required to deposit their passports, together with the completed visa application forms and all supporting documents well ahead of the proposed date of travel, in order to avoid possible delays.

Passport applications should be submitted with i) evidence of citizenship and ii) evidence of identity such as:
- Birth Certificate
- National Identity Card
- Old Passport
- Voter ID Card
- Dual Citizenship/Naturalization/Registration Certificate
- Proof of name change if by Affidavit or Gazette Publication.
A Police Report and affidavit are to be attached for missing passports. The Application Form must be submitted in person by the Applicant to the Embassy and should be witnessed by a person in one of the following categories to whom the applicant is personally known:
- A Senior Clergyman/Woman
- A Commissioned officer of the Armed Forces (Captain and above); or persons of equivalent rank in the security services.
- A Senior Civil or Public Servant (Principal Executive Officer and above)
- A Registered Medical Practitioner
- A Solicitor or Barrister
- Head of a recognized Educational Institution
- Other recognized professionals registered with their respective regulating bodies.
Guarantors by their undertaking, the Guarantors are deemed to have agreed jointly and severally to pay all expenses that may be incurred by the government on the Applicant in the event of the Applicant being repatriated or dying abroad.
Caution – Applicant, Guarantors and witnesses are to note that the making of a false statement for the purpose of procuring a passport is an offence under section 15 of the passport and travel certificate decree (NLCD. 155, 1967).

Consular Identification Card
Consular ID cards are available to Ghanaian citizens resident in Cote d’Ivoire. The application process takes two weeks at a cost of five thousand (5,000) CFA Francs and is valid for a period of five years.
